Swiss chards with Italiano-Tofu filling

I love finger food, it is always easy to display in a plate or convenient to take in a picnic!  I have decided to try an experiment :  stuffing Swiss chard with a filling, made of tofu and some typically Italian items .  It has only been a few months that I am enjoying eating tofu! With an appropriate seasoning, tofu can be really super yummy! As it is summer now, I thought that some sun-dried tomatoes and basil would be tasty…

The result came out really yummy, nice-looking and quite quick to prepare!

ingredients for two servings (about 8 pieces):

4 big (or 8 small ) Swiss chard leaves

250gr of fresh soft (silk) tofu

10-15 sun-dried tomatoes, finely diced

2 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil

1 teaspoon of rice flour or maizena

salt and pepper


Blanch the Swiss chard leaves 2-3 minutes in salted boiling water.

Drain the leaves and put them flat on a clean kitchen towel or a paper.

Mash the tofu with a fork and add all the ingredients.

Place a full teaspoon of this mixture in the middle of each leaf and fold it

Put them in a steamer for 10-15 minutes.

Serve with rice or as sandwich filling.
